Concrete Tremor 1.0

Low-budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to dazzle the audience with beautiful graphics, they instead need to focus on something else to stand out. These restrictions can lead to some very creative premises. Let's look at Concrete Tremor.

To install Concrete Tremor, simply unzip the files inside the archive into any folder you want.

The premise is extremely disturbing. You start off as a person in an apartment building grabbing some food to eat. While talking with some of the other tenants, one of them mentions that the roof entrance is open. You go up to check it out and see that you're in one apartment out of many apartments surrounded by walls.

It then cuts to a scene of a helicopter that's delivering two "players", and then you take control of one of the players. The rules of the game are simple. There are one hundred cells, twenty five buildings, and you get five shots per turn. If you miss all your shots, you'll get a phone call that will give you the location of one of your opponent's building.

And thus starts the most twisted game of Battleship ever. The most bone-chilling parts of the game are when you miss five times. Whoever's in charge of the game will call one of the tenants of your opponent's buildings, asking for their location and assuring them they will be evacuated...right before you blow them up.

The whole game's tone, coupled with it's creepy text to speech dialogue, makes it one of the rare horror games that don't rely on some monster and instead on depressing dread.

All in all, Concrete Tremor is an incredibly unique game that everybody should check out.
