As unusual as it sounds and as hard as professional players may scoff, randomness does increase a game's longevity and appeal. In fact, an entire genre has formed around them, especially with exploration or roguelike games. These games generate new maps randomly and force you to adapt quickly. One of these many roguelike games is Undervault.

Undervault's installation process is easy and simple. All you need to do is unzip it from its archive and run the executable. Its first impression is deceptively simple, but there's a lot of depth as is standard with these types of games. The game flow has you randomizing the next room you enter, each with its own specific objects. If you don't want to do that random stuff, then there are special cards that will give you a specific room.

At first, this seems simple. The game comes with a skill tree and some other interesting systems as well. The combat system is fairly basic, given the fact that the battles take place in turns. You can choose where to strike your opponent, and the skill tree comes into action there. You can customize your character's abilities in a variety of ways. Thus, whether you focus on dodge tanking or critting everyone, each playthrough has its own charms.

All in all, Undervault is a pretty fun roguelike RPG and fans of the genre should give it a shot. With the skill trees and constant randomization, one won't run out of things to do.
