The Windows Registry hive holds a ton of information about the computer, including how it crashed or what went wrong the last session. However, it's nearly impossible to view these files in a legible format ordinarily. You tend to need special programs to do so, and Windows Registry Recovery not only helps you read them, it also helps you...well, recover them.

There is no setup process involved with Windows Registry Recovery. It is a fully portable program, so you can simply drop the executable file anywhere you want. You can also slap it onto a USB or another storage device in order to run it on any computer.

This program doesn't get new entries or create its own folder, and the files aren't kept on the hard disk after removing it. The only way it can affect your hard disk is if you export a file from them.

The interface is a regular window, plain and simple. There's no color, there's no real flair. However, that does make it easy to use. Drag and drop isn't supported, however, so you'll have to browse your computer for Windows Hive files manually, which can be a pain. 

This program reveals information on the file type, such as the last date modified, name, checkum, keys, HBINs, loading times, and more. Additionally, after looking through all this data yourself, you can easily export it in a multitude of formats. Overall, Windows Registry Recovery does exactly what it says it does on the tin.
